Catholic Literary Book Group

The next meeting of our monthly book group will be on Saturday, April 6th at 6:30pm in the library (note day & location change). We will look at the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, convert and Jesuit priest 1844-1889, whose relatively small output, published posthumously, is a glory of the English language, and among the greater religious poetry ever written. Contact Mark for a packet of April's selections.

Bus Stop Breakfast

We will host our next Bus Stop Breakfast on April 6 from 8:00 am to about 10:00 am. Mount Calvary parishioners will prepare and serve a hot breakfast to the community outside our front doors. There is a methadone clinic across the street from the church, and many men and women who are struggling with addiction visit the clinic on Saturday mornings for treatment. We are able to serve them in a small way as we hand out egg sandwiches and hot coffee. The ministry, although new, has brought many opportunities for deep conversation, prayer, and witness. And we hope we can continue to touch the hearts of these men and women with the love of Christ and give them hope in their struggles. Contact Abby Scharbach for details.
